HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY

What you need to get back in the fight.

Mountain Warfare is browser-based, but the player device still needs a Bluetooth path to the Recoil blaster. GPS is optional unless you want map features.

✓ RECOMMENDED

Android phone

Use a modern browser with Web Bluetooth support. The player client handles Game ID entry, hardware connection, lobby, and live HUD directly in the browser.

  • Bluetooth enabled
  • Web Bluetooth-capable browser
  • Location permission only for GPS map features
  • Internet connection to the Mountain Warfare server
iOS

iPhone / iPad

Safari does not expose Web Bluetooth to the player client. On iOS, use a browser that provides Web Bluetooth support such as Bluefy.

  • Open the player link in Bluefy
  • Bluetooth enabled
  • Allow location only if using teammate GPS
  • The Game ID / QR workflow stays the same
ORGANIZER

Admin device

The admin and account tools do not need to connect to a blaster. A normal modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer is enough.

  • Match settings
  • Live player roster
  • Start / end / reset controls
  • Game history and QR invite
DISPLAY

Spectator screen

The spectator dashboard can run on a larger browser display for players or guests watching the field.

  • Live GPS field map
  • Teams and player status
  • Health, ammo, kills, and game clock
  • No Recoil hardware connection required
PERMISSION CHECKLIST

Bluetooth is required. GPS is optional.

The player experience works without sharing a location. The map simply has less information.

BLUETOOTHRequired for player hardware

Used by the phone to communicate with the Recoil blaster.

LOCATIONOptional

Needed only when you want the teammate/spectator GPS map to show the player position.

CAMERANot required

The QR is scanned using the phone or browser’s normal QR workflow before entering the game client.

ACCOUNTOrganizer only

Players join a Game ID using their player name and PIN; they do not need a customer organizer account.

BEFORE GAME DAY

Test one phone and one blaster first.

Browser Bluetooth behavior varies by platform. Connect one player device, grant the permissions you plan to use, and verify the blaster before rolling the setup out to the whole field.
